dad + mom - kid (for the day). Today is our anniversary and we get to spend it together!!! Cole was told he had too much vacation and had to take the rest of the week off. Love when all the pieces fall together in unexpected ways. We are both enjoying an unexpected kid free day together and celebrating us 💕

When I set my mind to something I have a tendency to go full speed ahead and not celebrate the wins along the way. A few months ago I decided to invest in my goals and took an SEO class. It's something I've wanted to do for awhile now. Can I just say...MIND BLOWN 🤯 It's weird to think about how much SEO scared me and how clearly I understand it now.

From this class I did a major overhaul on my blog. I knew getting to rank on page 1 in Google could take 6-12 months and I was in it for the long haul. As it sits right now, two of my recent blog posts are ranking on page 3. (If you're looking for researched guides on kids gear #linkinbio) Last month I was featured in Better Homes & Gardens and next month I have two articles coming out in Parents.com and Authority Magazine.

What does this mean? It means I'm progressing. I may not be to my final goal, but I've achieved some pretty amazing wins these past few months. Wins that are worthy of celebrating.

This toddler officially wants nothing to do with photos. My vision of mother and son matching outfits with him standing next to me holding my hand was NOT happening. 😂 He did manage to pull off the perfect “rock on” hand sign though 🤘 (swipe to see). We started taking Noah to music class when he was

We started taking Noah to music class when he was 7 months old. Although music class looks a little different these days (via Zoom) this kid still LOVES to dance! #PampersPartner. Noah's first sensory bin experience was a hit! Everytime he found a hidden foam egg he would yell, "Ball!" and throw it on the ground 🤣

I've been reading about the benefits of sensory bins for a while and definitely need to create these more often for Noah. Sensory play encourages children to explore and engage all of their senses. Some benefits include: problem solving, life skills (pouring, scooping, transferring), independent play skills, pre-math skills, fine motor skills, imaginary play, and wait for it...self control.

Yup! Self control. When your child plays with sensory bins they are following a set of rules and guidelines you have set up for them. They are simple boundaries like not putting the beans in their mouth or not throwing the rice. It gives your child the space to start practicing self control. Pretty cool, huh?

Confession: Gallery walls intimidate me. I absolutely LOVE the look of them, but didn't have much confidence in myself to actually pull it off. With the encouragement of my husband, I decided to give it a try. Here are a few things I learned.

1. Thank god my husband is an amazing mathematician, an electrician by trade, and has spent his fair share of years helping with home reno projects. His ability to hang things on the wall in perfect symmetry is unmatched. (His advice: take a math class and spacing is a nightmare😂).

2. Lining the images up in different configurations on the floor and taking photos is a great way to plan before putting any holes in the wall.

3. If all your images are the same size, the whole process will be much easier than what we tried.

4. Do not try this at home 🤪
